Many of these designs rely on wingborne flight using a\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Ecombination of propulsive, generally propellers and lifting, usually wings, components. From a\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Esafety and performance perspective, it is important to understand the physics and flow phenomena,\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Eespecially the aerodynamic interactions between these propellers and the wings, and the\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Eaccompanying performance impact. The present study aims to expand the current knowledge using\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Emodel-scale wind tunnel testing with a generic propeller\u2013wing setup to understand the aerodynamic\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Ephenomena and performance effects associated with, e.g., compound lift-and-cruise configurations or\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Etiltrotors, by quantifying the loads on the propeller and the wing accompanied by flow field\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Emeasurements for understand fundamental flow phenomena. Measurements were done for a range of\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Eoperating conditions. The focus was to understand the effect of the propeller on the wing and vice\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Evase as well as utilize system performance metrics to identify optimum conditions within interested\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Eflight regimes. Significant benefits to the wing performance was identified due to the propeller\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Eslipstream. Differences in the wing\u2019s blockage and circulatory effects caused variations in the\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr\u003Epropeller performance.
