{"677944":{"#nid":"677944","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Library launches accessible gadgets ","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EIn its continuing effort to bring services to all Georgia Tech students, faculty and staff regardless of physical ability, this November the Library launched a new line of fully accessible gadgets.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cAs we continuously invest in technology, it is important that the Library understands the needs of our disability community,\u201d said Karen Manning, the Engagement and Inclusion Librarian. \u201cBringing awareness to our assistive technologies addresses accessibility needs and provides a method to improve the functional capabilities of our users.\u201d\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Library recently purchased two timers, two large print keyboards, five decibel reducing headsets, two trackball mice and one talking graphing calculator, said Kimberly Griffis, the Public Services associate spearheading the effort.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cIt\u2019s a small group of items to increase our accessibility options,\u201d said Griffis. \u201cBut I\u2019m sure more will be added in the future.\u201d\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAll items are circulated for 24 hours, said Griffis.
