Meller, Ph.D.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAfter 20+ years in academia, Meller pivoted to industry and now stands as the Chief Scientist at \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.fortna.com\/\u0022\u003EFORTNA\u003C\/a\u003E with over 10 years of experience overseeing researchers developing algorithms, analysts performing data analysis and design simulations, and solution architects designing distribution centers for some of the world\u2019s largest brands.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAt FORTNA, Russell Meller is at the cutting edge of complex distribution centers, employing automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced simulation and emulation technologies. This October, he will take the stage at H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE), and dive into his experiences at the LeeAnn and Walter Muller Distinguished Lecture Series.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWith great anticipation, From Academia to Industry: Observations of a Traveler, will share Meller\u2019s unconventional career path, and the lessons learned along the way.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAs technology continues to transform industries like supply chain and logistics, the need for professionals who can translate academic theory into practical solutions is more crucial now than ever.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMeller holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
