67780 news 1308589902 1475896133 <![CDATA[Perumalla Earns DOE Early Career Award]]> Kalyan Perumalla, senior researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and an adjunct faculty member in the Computational Sciences and Engineering Division, has been awarded a five-year research grant under the U.S. Department of Energy's Early Career Research Program (ECRP).

Perumalla is one of 69 scientists around the country who received the award, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and one of seven funded through the DOE's Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) program. He received the grant for his project, "ReveR-SES: Reversible Software Execution Systems."

The objective of the ECRP is to stimulate academic research in scientific areas of interest to ASCR programs, especially among faculty in the early stages of their academic profession. The specific research areas of interest to ASCR include applied mathematics, computer science, computational science and high-performance networks.
