While ethics is a year-round priority, Ethics Week spotlights all the ways our campus engages in ethical decision-making and leadership.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis year\u2019s events, taking place Nov. 4 \u2013 8, will include online presentations and in-person events. Campus experts and guest speakers will join the Office of Ethics and Compliance to showcase ethics in a variety of ways. \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDanette Joslyn-Gaul, general counsel and vice president for Ethics, Compliance, and Legal Affairs, says, \u201cEthics Week allows us to highlight our core values of \u2018We act ethically\u2019 and \u2018We are responsible stewards,\u2019 but in fact, acting ethically permeates everything that we do. Ethics Week reminds our community that ethics should be at the forefront of our decision-making every day. He instructed at the Navy Fighter Weapons School, also known as TOPGUN, and served as senior aide-de-camp to Gen. Colin L. Powell. He commanded a fighter squadron, the amphibious ship USS Cleveland, and the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise. As a flag officer, he commanded a carrier strike group, two NATO commands, the U.S. Sixth Fleet, U.S. Northern Command, and the North American Aerospace Defense Command. He retired in 2015 after serving as the ninth vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAdmiral Winnefeld is a frequently published author and a director or advisory board member for several companies operating in a broad spectrum of business sectors. He is a distinguished professor at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech, where he is also a member of the Engineering Hall of Fame. He is a senior non-resident fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Admiral Winnefeld and his wife Mary co-founded SAFE Project, a national nonprofit committed to helping reverse the epidemic of drug overdose fatalities in the United States.
