The Institute was ranked No. 27 last year.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe ranking is based on student responses, of which \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/rankings.thefire.org\/rank\/school\/georgia-institute-of-technology-main-campus\u0022 rel=\u0022noreferrer noopener\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech\u003C\/a\u003E had 207 this year. Final rankings are a composite of 14 areas, seven of which assess student perceptions of freedom of speech on campus. \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETech also retained its green light in FIRE\u2019s Spotlight Rankings. The green light indicates that an institution maintains no policies that seriously threaten free speech.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe rise in Tech\u2019s FIRE ranking coincides with an ongoing, intentional effort to bolster freedom of expression on campus. President \u00c1ngel Cabrera noted this in his Sept. 5 \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OFaJTuAtLvs\u0022 rel=\u0022noreferrer noopener\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EInstitute Address\u003C\/a\u003E, and Georgia Tech maintains \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/students.gatech.edu\/freedom_of_expression\u0022 rel=\u0022noreferrer noopener\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003Eseveral campus resources\u003C\/a\u003E for freedom of expression.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cThis is something that belongs to each one of us \u2014 to be respectful of the other. To be inquisitive, even curious.
