The organization advocates for \u201cbroad and evolving definitions of literacy, communication, rhetoric, and writing (including multimodal discourse, digital communication, and diverse language practices) that emphasize the value of these activities to empower individuals and communities.\u201d\u202f\u202f\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIanetta will serve a four-year term in which she will move through the officer ranks of Assistant Chair, Associate Chair, Chair and Past Chair of the organization, which typically hosts 2,000 to 3,000 writing scholars at its annual conference. Ianetta will chair this event in 2026.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cI was honestly shocked to receive this accolade, the highest in my field,\u201d Ianetta said. \u201cI see this as an opportunity to pay back a discipline that has given me so much in my career and to enhance connection of the Writing and Communication Program\u2019s postdoctoral teaching fellows to the conversations of writing studies.\u201d\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe CCCC is part of the National Council of Teachers of English, the country\u2019s oldest organization of literacy educators from pre-K through graduate school.
