Hood joins ISyE as an academic advisor, bringing nearly ten years of combined \u0026nbsp;experience from Kennesaw State University and Georgia State University. He was previously a postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley, focusing on high-dimensional statistics, graphical models, and large-scale optimization.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cblockquote\u003E\u003Cp\u003EI was drawn to Georgia Tech by its prestigious OR and IE programs, vibrant city life, pleasant environment, and collegial community.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/blockquote\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDr. Na earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Mathematics from Nanjing University, China. He has received several prestigious awards, including the William Rainey Harper Dissertation Fellowship and the MAPR Meritorious Service Award.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDr. Na\u0027s innovative research and expertise will greatly enhance ISyE\u0027s data science capabilities.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Ch2\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.isye.gatech.edu\/users\/xiaochen-xian\u0022 rel=\u0022noreferrer noopener\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EDr. Xiaochen Xian\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/h2\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDr. Xiaochen Xian joins ISyE as an Assistant Professor, specializing in big data analytics and system informatics.
