Her dissertation,\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003EDigital Age: A Study of Older Adults\u2019 User Experiences with Technology,\u003C\/em\u003E\u0026nbsp;received the 2021-22 Hugh Burns Best Dissertation Award from\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003EComputers \u0026amp; Composition\u003C\/em\u003E. Her scholarship has appeared in\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003ETechnical Communication; Communication Design Quarterly,\u003C\/em\u003E\u0026nbsp;the\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003EJournal of Global Literacies, Technologies, and Emerging Pedagogies,\u003C\/em\u003E\u0026nbsp;the\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003EJournal of University Teaching and Learning Practice\u003C\/em\u003E; and edited collections from Routledge and the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Clearinghouse. Before joining Georgia Tech, Smith was an assistant professor of English at Jacksonville State University, where she taught courses in technical writing, public speaking, and social media.
