In the spirit of cultivating discovery and recognizing outstanding research contributions, the Office of Technology Licensing (OTL) is proud to announce the winners of the second annual GT NEXT Award. Established in 2023, the award celebrates the inventiveness of Georgia Tech's graduate students and postdocs, highlighting their commitment to research and development that promises to contribute significantly to the betterment of society.
A material commitment to progress and excellence, the GT NEXT Award provides $5,000 to each recipient. This funding is a direct investment in the future of technology and innovation, supporting the awardees' research and development efforts, including procuring materials, supplies, and instrument-use fees, as well as carrying out customer discovery initiatives.
This year's GT NEXT Award recipients have shown exceptional creativity and potential in their respective fields:
Srujana Joshi, graduate student, biomedical engineering. "Nitinol-Based Dynamic Sealing Technology to Prevent Paravalvular Leakage in Heart Valve Replacements."
Khoi Le, graduate student, biomedical engineering. "Volatile-Releasing Probes for Multiplexed Sensing of Protease Activity."
Aref Valipour, graduate student, electrical and computer engineering. "MicroCodes."
Zhe Monica Zhong, graduate student, mechanical engineering. "Compositions and Methods for Engineering the Human Immune System for Health and Disease."
