Here, we consider both\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\ncontinuous-time and discrete-time stochastic dynamical systems. For each of this class of systems,\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nwe start by using supermartingale theory to develop theorems concerning Lyapunov,\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nasymptotic, and exponential stability in probability. We also provide essential generalizations\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nof the Krasovskii-LaSalle invariant set theorem for stochastic dynamical systems. Next, we\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nintroduce the concept of stochastic dissipativity through an energetic supermartingale condition.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nWe continue by formulating various necessary and sufficient conditions for stochastic\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\ndissipativity. Additionally, we derive extended Kalman-Yakubovich-Popov conditions and\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nutilize dissipativity principles to establish stability criteria for feedback interconnections of\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nstochastic dynamical systems. Moreover, we investigate applications to thermodynamic models.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nFinally, we present a unified approach to optimal nonlinear analysis and feedback control\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nwithin nonlinear stochastic dynamical systems by leveraging the insights on stability and dissipativity\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\npreviously developed. Our focus lies on offering a framework that guarantees both\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nstochastic stability and optimality. Moreover, we devise optimal feedback controllers for\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\naffine nonlinear systems through an inverse optimal control problem and determine stability\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nmargins.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nCommittee\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nDr. Wassim M.
