{"673844":{"#nid":"673844","#data":{"type":"event","title":"The Role of Generative AI in Teaching and Research in LMC","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003ERecent advances in Generative AI (chatbots, image generators, code generators, image enhancement tools, deepfake software, etc.) seem likely to have a significant impact across higher education.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EBecause LMC teaches a variety of courses across several fields (humanities courses, writing pedagogy, creative writing, digital media production courses, etc.), the School is well-positioned to consider the pedagogical implications of generative AI from many angles. Generative AI also raises research questions not only for digital media and media studies but also for communications, for science and technology studies, for the study of race, gender, and other social issues, and for the creative arts (including the literary arts). It seems that LMC is ideally situated to put the cultural critique of AI in dialogue with its creative potential.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOur event will feature two panels of LMC faculty with plenty of time for discussion by the audience.
