Brigitte Stepanov will present on \u0022Epistemologies of Energy: Infrastructure, Community, Poetics\u0022 and Miguel Rosas Buendia will present on \u0022Andean Mining Landscapes: Science, Society and Culture.\u0022\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EStepanov is a war researcher and an assistant professor of Francophone studies. She is the founder and director of the Energy Today Lab, an interdisciplinary research hub that reflects creatively and analytically on the energy \u2014 broadly defined from labor to thermodynamics - of our contemporary world. Her research interests focus on 20th- and 21st-century French, North African, and Sub-Saharan African literary and visual culture.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EBuendia is an assistant professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies. His research focuses on knowledge production, nationalism, extractive industries, and the transatlantic exchange of ideas about the pre-Columbian\u0026nbsp;material culture. He\u0026nbsp;is the founder and director of the Latin American Environmental Humanities Lab (LAEH Lab), an interdisciplinary and cross-school initiative at the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.
