{"673776":{"#nid":"673776","#data":{"type":"event","title":"4th Annual SEEDS Conference","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe Southeast Exchange of Development Studies (SEEDS) is an interdisciplinary research group of scholars conducting research in the broad area of development. We are delighted to announce the\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003E4th\u0026nbsp;Annual SEEDS Conference which will be held at Georgia Institute of Technology on April 25-26, 2024\u003C\/strong\u003E. The conference will bring together social scientists from a variety of fields, including economics, international affairs, political science, public policy, and sociology.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe conference will begin in the afternoon on April 25 and end in the afternoon on April 26. We expect participants to attend both days of the conference. The host institution will host dinner on April 25, and breakfast and lunch on April 26; participants will be reimbursed for parking. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, we will have limited funds to support lodging for one night for presenters from outside the Metro Atlanta area. Preference for this funding will be given to junior scholars and to those who do not have alternative sources of support.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch3\u003E2024 Keynote Speaker\u003C\/h3\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EFrancisca Antman\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;is a professor with research interests in international migration and human capital investments, income inequality, poverty traps, adult children\u2019s care for elderly parents, \u0026nbsp;the economic mobility of individuals and families over time and generations, and the allocation of resources within households and families, the endogeneity of race and ethnicity, and economic development in historical perspective. Her current work focuses on the impact of migration on the health and education outcomes for children and parents of migrants remaining in Mexico.
