From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, the Institute will host STEAM activities for the whole family. A two-week celebration of STEAM education and career opportunities, ASF offers more than 100 events and demonstrations hosted around the city for people of all ages.\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cspan\u003E\u003Cspan\u003EScience and Engineering Day aims to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists and share the breadth and impact of Georgia Tech\u2019s research with the local community. The theme of this year\u2019s event is space and includes appearances by former \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shane_Kimbrough\u0022\u003ENASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough\u003C\/a\u003E, M.S. ISyE 1998, who has spent an astounding 388 days in space.\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cspan\u003E\u003Cspan\u003EAttendees will lift off from the Launch Pad \u2014 The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design \u2014 where they will receive a \u201cGalactic Passport\u201d to guide their journey through the Georgia Tech universe. Each planet, or building, will house multiple hands-on activities, all led by Georgia Tech students, researchers, faculty, and staff. There will be more than \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/research.gatech.edu\/atlsciencefestival\/demos\u0022\u003E50 interactive exhibits\u003C\/a\u003E for attendees to experience.\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cspan\u003E\u003Cspan\u003EFollowing Science and Engineering Day, the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.neuro.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003ENeuro Next Initiative\u003C\/a\u003E at Georgia Tech will co-host with Emory University a \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/atlantasciencefestival.org\/events-2024\/810-piece-of-mind\/\u0022\u003Efilm screening\u003C\/a\u003E and \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/atlantasciencefestival.org\/events-2024\/809-performing-data-neurodegenerative-disease-research-and-lived-experience-share-the-stage\/\u0022\u003Elive performance\u003C\/a\u003E that combines neuroscience research with movement and insights into the experience of people living with Parkinson\u2019s and dementia. These interactive events include acrobats from the Centre for Circus Arts Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer (CRITAC), the research arm of the Canadian National Circus School.\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cspan\u003E\u003Cspan\u003E\u003Cem\u003EAtlanta Science Festival is engineered by\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/em\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/scienceatl.org\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003E\u003Cem\u003EScience ATL\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u003Cem\u003E, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to\u0026nbsp;bringing people together\u0026nbsp;through the wonder of science.
