According to the study published in <a href="https://research.gatech.edu/feature/sea-cucumber"><em>Nature Communications</em></a>, sea cucumbers are crucial to ensuring clean reef sediments and preventing the spread of microbial pathogens — and their apparent decline is bad news for coral reefs.</p>
