673157news17089611781709305527<![CDATA[Fifth Street Closure to Begin March 4 For Tech Square Phase 3 Ongoing Construction]]>UPCOMING UTILITY WORK:
Utility work near the intersection of 5th St. and Spring St. is anticipated to begin March 4th.
The Utility Work will be broken into two (2) phases. Phase 1 is outlined below.
An additional crane will be erected to continue construction efforts.
PHASE 1: (3-5 weeks for storm, sanitary, and telecom)
Full road closure of Fifth St. from 7 am – 4 pm
Work entails connecting to an existing manhole in the Spring/Fifth St. intersection and installing a telecom duct bank across Fifth St.
Both lanes in Fifth St. must be closed for this installation and public safety. Vehicles and bikes will need to be detoured. The Northern Fifth St sidewalk will be closed.
The impact on Spring Street is expected to be in the furthest east lane on Spring St only (where we already have the lane closed for the pedestrian walkway on Spring St). There will be barricades in the intersection to protect pedestrians from the utility installation.
