Meredith Linscott, IE 2000, is a Senior Engineering Consultant and Director of Legal Affairs at the Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE). She holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech and a Juris Doctor degree from Georgia State University College of Law. 

Jason Linscott, IE 2000, serves as Principal at Stein Investment Group, specializing in real estate development and acquisition. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech. 

Q: How did you first connect with your Georgia Tech "love"? 

A: While they both noticed each other around campus, Jason thought of Meredith as a mystery girl that he couldn’t seem to locate until she randomly showed up with a friend at Jason’s fraternity house! After there was a connection, they had their first date the following week at Café Intermezzo. Jason was headed to Texas to co-op for M&M/Mars in a few weeks, so Meredith thought surely this would not turn into anything long term. That was 1995, so she is happy to admit this is one time she was wrong!  

Q: Can you share a memorable moment that defines your relationship within the Georgia Tech community? 

A: Both of us participated in Tech’s study-abroad program at Worcester College - Oxford. The program was amazing, providing us with an opportunity to travel throughout Europe and experience different cultures. It also allowed us to branch out and meet new friends. It’s easy to fall into routines while on campus but studying abroad helped mix things up. The Tech friends we became close with while abroad made our memories from that time even sweeter. 

Q: In what ways has this connection positively impacted your Georgia Tech experience or life journey? 

A: Tech has meant so much to our family. We have the most incredible experiences and memories from our time on campus and we credit Tech with our relationship and many wonderful friendships that we maintain today. Our children refer to many of our Tech friends as aunts and uncles and we can both draw direct lines with our professional success back to our time at Tech. 

Q: What’s one facet of your relationship that’s special between the two of you?  

A: When we decided to start a family, we ended up with triplets… for two Georgia Tech ISyE graduates, that was the most efficient path to a full family!  We also both love a good spreadsheet; there are only a few things that a spreadsheet can’t help organize or fix! 

Q: What advice would you give to others seeking meaningful connections within the Georgia Tech community? 

A: Tech is an incredible community with a diverse group of exceptional, bright students possessing significant potential. Put your energy into friendships and relationships while at Tech… these relationships will enhance your education and expand your mind; they will also be meaningful, personal friendships that will last a lifetime.
