672507 event 1706504109 1711027772 <![CDATA[EarSketch Live Coding Concert]]> A recital of composed and improvised works for combinations of trumpet, trombone, percussion, and electronics. Jeff Albert, Alexandria Smith, & Jeremy Muller along with members of the EarSketch team will perform live coding works. 

The upcoming School of Music faculty and staff performance will feature EarSketch, a Georgia Tech-created music software, with Lead Developer Luke Heerman doing a live coding performance, where code is written live to produce music. EarSketch, which is typically underrated as mere "educational software," will be used for serious composition and multimedia performance.

EarSketch is used by 2,500 schools and 250,000 users annually. This performance is part of an effort to demonstrate the software's use for serious composition. EarSketch is unique among other popular music tools (not just educational) for being free and web-based, for it's sound library featuring popular artists, and for holding regular student music competitions.

Admission is free and open to the public.
