  <title><![CDATA[Inclusive STEM Teaching Fellow Program Application Deadline]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>The&nbsp;Inclusive&nbsp;STEM&nbsp;Teaching&nbsp;Fellows program is designed to advance the awareness, self-efficacy, and ability of&nbsp;STEM&nbsp;instructors to cultivate&nbsp;inclusive&nbsp;learning environments for all their students and to develop themselves as reflective,&nbsp;inclusive&nbsp;practitioners.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The&nbsp;institute&nbsp;will cover the following themes designed to help instructors construct classroom environments that support the complexities that contribute to student persistence:</p>

<ul>
	<li><strong>Social identity and its impact on learning</strong></li>
	<li><strong>Power, positionality, and privilege</strong></li>
	<li><strong>Inclusive&nbsp;course design</strong></li>
	<li><strong>Interruption of oppression and microaggressions</strong></li>
	<li><strong>Evidence-based&nbsp;teaching</strong></li>
</ul>

<h3>Format</h3>

<p>Participants will enroll in the self-paced&nbsp;Inclusive&nbsp;STEM&nbsp;Teaching&nbsp;Project online course (March 6 &ndash; April 28) and culminate the experience with an in-person&nbsp;institute&nbsp;designed for deep engagement around diversity, equity, and inclusion in learning and&nbsp;teaching, instructor identity and authority, student identities and experiences, creating&nbsp;inclusive&nbsp;courses, and fostering an&nbsp;inclusive&nbsp;classroom climate. The&nbsp;institute&nbsp;will be held from 9 am &ndash; 2 pm on May 10 and 11, 2023, at an on-campus venue.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>Stipends and Commitments</h3>

<p><strong>Selected&nbsp;participants will receive&nbsp;$1000 in funds to be used for professional activities related to DEI initiatives.</strong></p>

<p>Participants commit to completing the&nbsp;Inclusive&nbsp;STEM&nbsp;Teaching&nbsp;Project online course including weekly virtual check-ins with GT coordinators and attending the&nbsp;Inclusive&nbsp;STEM&nbsp;Teaching&nbsp;Institute&nbsp;on May 10&nbsp;and 11, 2023. There is the potential for additional funding for related projects upon completion of the&nbsp;institute.&nbsp;</p>
