Judges needed for K-12 InVenture Prize competition

Georgia Tech’s Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) is looking for Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and student volunteers to serve as judges for the K-12 InVenture Prize Competition.

K-12 InVenture Prize is an invention and entrepreneurship program that challenges students to identify real-world problems and design novel solutions through analysis, creativity, and the engineering design process.

Judges provide critical feedback to student teams as they compete amongst their peers and qualify for a spot at State Finals. The next upcoming qualifying event is the Online Qualifier, which will be held virtually on Wednesday, February 15. That is followed by in-person state finals at Georgia Tech on March 15. Judges are needed for both events.

"We count on our volunteer judges to give feedback and encouragement to our young inventors and entrepreneurs,” said Senior Research Engineer Roxanne Moore who serves as the K-12 InVenture Prize director. “We are creating the next generation of engineers and entrepreneurs, and we make it easy to volunteer to judge. Online qualifiers can be done online on your mobile device, and it usually takes less than an hour. The in-person event is about a 2–3-hour commitment and will brighten your entire year.”
