While in the past the Institute has not required\nsuch information to be on record, it is now mandatory that all students,\nfaculty and staff list an emergency contact.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003E\u201cOur\nstudents\u2019 safety is always a priority. Having emergency contact information\nallows me and my staff to reach the designated contacts our students list in\nthe event of a personal or life-threatening emergency,\u201d said John Stein, dean\nof students. \u201cEmergencies happen on a\ndaily basis, some more serious than others. Many do require us to contact the\nperson listed as a means of informing them about what has occurred and seeking\ntheir assistance in responding to the emergency.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\n\n\u003Cp\u003EWhen you log into the Tech network for the first time after\nyour password has expired, you will be asked for this information prior to being\nable to move on to changing your password. Emergency contacts will be collected\non a rolling basis in conjunction with password expirations through September,\nwith some student accounts given an early expiration date to ensure that\nemergency contact information is collected from all students by early fall.
