Both programs serve minority business enterprises and are part of the Enterprise Innovation Institute.\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat is your field of expertise and why did you choose it?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nMy parents started a business when I was five years old.\u0026nbsp;Kitchen table conversations were often focused on the challenges of growing and scaling a business. This gave me a love for problem-solving and collaborating through to a solution.\u0026nbsp;Now I work with business owners and entrepreneurs who face similar problems \u0026mdash; and dozens of new challenges. It is not possible to \u0026ldquo;cut and paste\u0026rdquo; the answers. The problems we help to solve often need an innovative approach. The answer is not in a book, and we invent or create the solution.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat makes\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003Ethe\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EE\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003Enterprise Innovation Institute\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u0026#39;s approach to economic development unique?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nOur team is a mix of practitioners, academic researchers, and educators.\u0026nbsp;We work with businesses \u0026mdash; and business support organizations \u0026mdash; in Georgia, the Southeast, and around the world as we help to build better ecosystems.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat couldn\u0026#39;t have happened without the Enterprise Innovation Institute?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nI am particularly proud of the work we\u0026rsquo;ve done with the entrepreneurship ecosystem builders in Puerto Rico.\u0026nbsp;We helped business owners and entrepreneurs by helping to strengthen the entrepreneurial support organizations on the island.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat impact is Georgia Tech\u0026#39;s research having on the clients with whom you work?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nWe work with business support organizations and economic development organizations to build their capacity. The multiplier effect is remarkable.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat do you like to do in your spare time when you are not working?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nI volunteer as a mentor for several business incubators and accelerators in Atlanta.
