Jitomirskaya joins \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/biosciences.gatech.edu\/people\/mark-hay\u0022\u003EMark Hay,\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;Regents Professor and Teasley Chair in Environmental Biology in the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/biosciences.gatech.edu\u0022\u003ESchool of Biological Sciences\u003C\/a\u003E, as a Georgia Tech researcher\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/cos.gatech.edu\/news\/mark-hay-elected-national-academy-sciences-american-academy-arts-sciences\u0022\u003Eelected\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;to the NAS during the current cohort.\u0026nbsp;Jitomirskaya is the recipient of the 2020 Dannie Heineman Prize for Mathematical Physics and\u0026nbsp;the\u0026nbsp;2005 Ruth Lyttle Satter Prize\u0026nbsp;from the American Mathematical Society. After her retirement from\u0026nbsp;a\u0026nbsp;28-year career at Kennesaw State University, Elaine M. Hubbard,\u0026nbsp;Ph.D. MATH 1972,\u0026nbsp;established the\u0026nbsp;Elaine M. Hubbard Endowed Chair in the School of Mathematics,\u0026nbsp;the School\u0026rsquo;s first endowed faculty chair.
