{"65770":{"#nid":"65770","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Tech Students Teach Architecture to Atlanta Kids","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EStudents in Georgia Tech\u2019s chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS) recently taught a two-week Introduction to Architecture course at nearby Centennial Place Elementary School. The school\u2019s academic calendar has short breaks, or intercessions, when students and their parents can choose from several optional enrichment courses. \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ENOMAS outreach chair Audrey Plummer first learned of the intercession courses through Tech\u2019s Community Relations office, and pitched the \u0026nbsp;idea to Centennial Place administrators.\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nHer idea was to repurpose the \u201cday camp\u201d style curriculum in the College of Architecture\u2019s \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.coa.gatech.edu\/news\/career_discovery\u0022 target=\u0022_self\u0022\u003ECareer Discovery summer program\u003C\/a\u003E for high school juniors and seniors.
