Understandably, it has generated some uncertainty among our colleagues and students in Savannah, as well as some questions among faculty and staff based in Atlanta. Recently, Provost Rafael Bras and other members of the task force visited Savannah to respond to their questions and hear their concerns.

Currently, there are many options being discussed for the future of Georgia Tech's presence in Savannah. The goal of the task force is to produce a set of recommendations so that: any operations in Savannah will be tied to the Georgia Tech mission, be financially viable and be of quality consistent with other programs. Options being considered include professional master’s degree programs, professional/executive certificate programs and applied research activities that will drive economic and workforce development. The result of task force’s work will be a sharpened commitment as a partner and a resource for the people of Southeast Georgia.

The faculty task force charged reviewing the education and research operations in Savannah will hold an informational session to offer an update on the process and address any questions from faculty and staff at the Atlanta campus.
