{"656757":{"#nid":"656757","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Meet our 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award Winner, Chaunt\u00e9 Lowe!","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EChaunt\u0026eacute; Lowe was an exceptional student in the School of Economics, competing in the high jump at the\u0026nbsp;Athens 2004 Olympic Games\u0026nbsp;when she was only a\u0026nbsp;second-year\u0026nbsp;student at Georgia Tech.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETo no one\u0026#39;s surprise,\u0026nbsp;she\u0026#39;s gone on to be just as exceptional as an alumna.\u0026nbsp;Lowe represented the United States\u0026nbsp;in an astonishing four Olympic Games between\u0026nbsp;2004 and 2016, and that\u0026#39;s not even the most notable aspect of her story.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn 2019, Lowe was diagnosed with breast cancer. The eighth annual celebration honors exceptional alumni from each of the six academic schools and three Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) units in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.
