Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE), won a 2022 \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/research.adobe.com\/scholarship\/\u0022\u003EAdobe Women in Technology scholarship\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe award, which contributes a $10,000 award for education-related expenses, recognizes outstanding female students in artificial intelligence\/machine learning, data science, and computer science or web\/mobile development.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EPollack, a third-year ISyE major concentrating in advanced operations research and statistics, adds this scholarship to a list of accomplishments that already includes the 2022 \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/urop.gatech.edu\/salary-awards\u0022\u003EPresident\u0026rsquo;s Undergraduate Research Award (PURA) Fellowship\u003C\/a\u003E, the 2021 \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.brookeowensfellowship.org\/\u0022\u003EBrooke Owens Fellowship\u003C\/a\u003E, and the 2021 ISyE Rising Star award, among others. She plans to pursue a Ph.D. in operations research after earning her bachelor\u0026rsquo;s degree.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I chose to study operations research because I love the idea that we can take phenomena in the world around us and use mathematics to come to a better understanding of the driving forces of those phenomena,\u0026rdquo; she said. \u0026ldquo;In some sense, I think it is a really neat blend of the art of decision-making with the science of modeling the world around us mathematically.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn addition to her studies, Pollack is also the vice president of Georgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s chapter of Alphi Pi Mu, the national industrial engineering honor\u0026rsquo;s society.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAfter completing a pair of internships during her time at Georgia Tech at Space Capital and Hermeus, she entered the undergraduate research space working alongside Assistant Professor Lauren Steimle.
