getting Covid tests into the hands of Americans, working with the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration. “We kind of functioned as their eyes and hands to answer the question, Do these tests work?” said Wilbur Lam, professor in the Parker H. Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB). “Essentially, we’re testing the tests.” College of Sciences contributors to the Georgia Tech/Emory/CHOA collaboration include Greg Gibson, Regents Professor, Tom and Marie Patton Chair in the School of Biological Sciences, Director of the Center for Integrative Genomics, and IBB member; Steve Woodward, senior assistant director, core facilities, IBB; and Andrés Garcia, IBB executive director.
