He will be honored at the Region 3 annual meeting,\u0026nbsp;SoutheastCon 2022, on April 2 in Mobile, AL.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I have always enjoyed my interactions with IEEE since I first joined in college,\u0026quot;\u0026nbsp;said Calhoun. \u0026quot;Interdisciplinary research at the intersection between engineering and neuroscience\/neuroimaging is rapidly growing and producing exciting new results almost every day.\u0026quot;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ECalhoun is a\u0026nbsp;Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Eminent Scholar in brain health and image analysis and holds faculty appointments at Georgia State, Georgia Tech, and Emory. He is the director of the\u0026nbsp;Center for Advanced Brain Imaging (CABI), a joint venture between Georgia State and Georgia Tech, and the founding director of the\u0026nbsp;Center for Translational Research in Neuroimaging and Data Science (TReNDS), a tri-institutional effort supported by Georgia State, Georgia Tech and Emory to increase cooperation among Atlanta brain imaging researchers. Calhoun\u0026rsquo;s research is focused on developing new ways to analyze and use complex brain imaging data by drawing on advanced machine-learning approaches.
