  <title><![CDATA[ Hassan Named President of Interdisciplinary Nineteenth-Century Studies Scholars]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="https://incsscholars.org/">Interdisciplinary Nineteenth-Century Studies (INCS),</a> an international group of scholars, has named <a href="https://iac.gatech.edu/people/person/narin-hassan">Narin Hassan</a>, associate professor in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, as their president, effective Jan. 1, 2022.</p>

<p>Hassan will serve as president of INCS for the next two years. She previously held the role of vice president from 2018-2021 and organized the annual INCS conference hosted by Georgia Tech in 2015, which attracted 320 participants from across North America and eight other countries.</p>

<p>Hassan also co-edited a special issue of <em>Nineteenth-Century Contexts, </em>a journal supported by the INCS, published in October 2021 and <a href="https://iac.gatech.edu/news/item/652422/hassan-authors-introduction-zooming">co-authored the issue&rsquo;s introduction</a>.</p>
