Internship Program is looking \nfor interns beginning Summer 2011.  Approximately five students from \nacross the campus will be selected to each receive a \u003Cstrong\u003E$5,000 stipend\u003C\/strong\u003E to cover expenses (housing, transportation and living expenses) while \nserving in a full-time capacity as an intern in Washington, D.C.  This \nprogram is open to both undergraduate and graduate students of all \nmajors.\u003C\/p\u003E\n            \u003Cp\u003EStudents will be required to secure their own internship \nwith the assistance of the Division of Professional Practice (DoPP) and \nthe Office of Government and Community Relations.   Internships can \ninclude, but are not limited to, jobs with members of Congress, \nCongressional Committees, executive branch offices or not-for-profit \norganizations.   \u003C\/p\u003E\n            \u003Cp\u003EDuring the course of the internship, students will work \nfull-time in offices in and around Washington, D.C., for approximately 10 \nweeks.  To earn course credit, interns will also be required to complete\n weekly journals and must be available to promote the internship program\n to other GT students once they return to campus.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\n            \n\t\tShould you be a D.C. intern? Yes:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\n            \n            \u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EYou must register with DoPP to receive audit credit for the internship. \u003Cem\u003E(If\n you want to receive academic credit you must contact your department.  \nPlease note that there is a cost per credit hour associated with \nreceiving academic credit.)\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EYou must be in good disciplinary standing.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EYou must have taken one of the following courses \nprior to applying for program: HIST 2111, 2112, POL 1101, INTA 1200, \nPUBP 3000 or its equivalent.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\n            \u003Cp\u003ESelection is based on potential for leadership as \nindicated by grades, work experiences, extracurricular ac\ttivities, \ninterests, and maturity.
