Dhongde Appointed to Editorial Board for 'Journal of Poverty and Social Justice'

Associate Professor Shatakshee Dhongde was appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Poverty and Social Justice (JPSJ).

JPSJ focuses on poverty and social exclusion and "explores links with social security (including pensions and tax credits), employment, area regeneration, housing, health, education and criminal justice, as well as issues of ethnicity, gender, disability, and other social inequalities as they relate to social justice."

These fields are at the core of Dhongde's research agenda, and she has received national coverage of her work on multidimensional poverty in the US, among the elderly, and during the coronavirus pandemic. She also examines poverty in India, and will join a diverse group of professionals on the journal's editorial board working in countries such as Brazil, Australia, Finland, Romania, and the UK, among others.

"I was honored to be selected to work as an Associate Editor," said Dhongde. "I know our work will help amplify research papers, policy briefs, and short essays not only to academics but to policy makers and practitioners around the world in the field of poverty and social justice."
