But this just changed. The gruesome slaying of a Jewish family in the West Bank settlement of Itamar \u2014 including a mother and her young children \u2014 shocked Israelis from across the political spectrum and reduced chances of a settlement freeze in the near future.\n\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\n\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003ESince then, Israeli airstrikes against targets in Gaza in response to Qassam rocket fire into southern Israel have killed innocent civilians, and there has been a bombing in Jerusalem \u2014 the first in four years.
