{"651575":{"#nid":"651575","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Ting Appointed to McCamish Distinguished Chair","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EProfessor \u003Ca href=\u0022\/bme\/faculty\/Lena-H.-Ting\u0022\u003ELena Ting\u003C\/a\u003E has been named the inaugural McCamish Foundation Distinguished Chair at Emory University this fall, an endowed faculty position supported by a partnership between the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering and the McCamish Foundation. The Emory Board of Trustees approved the appointment in late September.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe new endowed chair recognizes high-performing faculty members in Coulter BME working in areas related to Parkinson\u0026rsquo;s disease and whose work has great potential to impact treatment of the condition. It\u0026rsquo;s one of four endowed positions created through a \u003Ca href=\u0022\/bme\/news\/stanley-named-founding-director-mccamish-parkinsons-disease-innovation-program\u0022\u003Etransformational gift from the foundation\u003C\/a\u003E in late 2020 that also established the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/parkinsons.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EMcCamish Parkinson\u0026rsquo;s Disease Innovation Program\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I am honored to be able to recognize Lena Ting as our inaugural McCamish Chair at Emory. She is the ideal faculty member to receive this additional support for her research,\u0026rdquo; said Machelle Pardue, interim Wallace H.
