New information on the virulent capabilities of \u003Cem\u003EB. thailandensis, \u003C\/em\u003Ea safer, validated surrogate for \u003Cem\u003EB. pseudomallei, \u003C\/em\u003Ehas recently been uncovered\u003Cem\u003E,\u003C\/em\u003E however, a global metabolomic analysis of the infection \u003Cem\u003Ein vitro \u003C\/em\u003Eis lacking. To address this gap, dual metabolomic profiling was applied to two cell types known to interact with \u003Cem\u003EB. thailandensis \u003C\/em\u003Eduring infection using an untargeted LC-MS\/MS analysis. Here we report the detection of several key \u003Cem\u003EB. thailandensis\u003C\/em\u003E-produced secondary metabolites \u003Cem\u003Ein vitro \u003C\/em\u003Ein \u003Cem\u003EB. thailandensis-\u003C\/em\u003Einfected mouse cell lines as well as the depletion of lysophosphatidylcholines during infection. We also demonstrate that there are distinct metabolomic profiles attributed to different bacterial loads and infection lengths \u003Cem\u003Ein vitro \u003C\/em\u003Edue to the presence of unique metabolites under each condition.
