{"651186":{"#nid":"651186","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Charitable Campaign is Underway","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EWhen it comes to charitable giving, every dollar donated to the Georgia State Charitable Contributions Program (GASCCP) helps a worthy cause. The 2021-22 campaign runs through Nov. 16.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe GASCCP is a benefit for State of Georgia and University System employees that allows contributions to the charity of choice through payroll deductions or a one-time donation.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFaculty and staff have several options for contributing. Giving online through OneUSG Connect is the preferred method because it is confidential, secure, and simple to use.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETo contribute:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ELog in to OneUSG Connect and select \u0026ldquo;Make SCCP Contribution\u0026rdquo; on the \u0026ldquo;State Charitable Contributions Program\u0026rdquo; button in the upper left of the Employee Self Service screen.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ESelect \u0026ldquo;Make Charitable Campaign Pledge\u0026rdquo; and follow the instructions.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EChoose \u0026ldquo;Payroll Deduction\u0026rdquo; to set up the amount you choose to pledge in equal installments. Deductions will begin in January 2022.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EIf you would rather download a pledge form, you can complete it and submit with your check to your unit ambassador or to Erick Maxwell, the campaign chair, at mail code 0866.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOver the past four years of the campaign, an average of 717 Georgia Tech employees have participated in the campaign. As a testament to the generosity of its faculty and staff, Georgia Tech has earned the Governor\u0026rsquo;s Cup 13 years in a row for having the highest contribution per employee among state institutions of its size.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I am proud to work at an institution with such a strong giving history,\u0026rdquo; said Serena Wallace, last year\u0026rsquo;s Charitable Campaign chair. \u0026ldquo;The generosity of staff and faculty in the midst of their own hardships shows what a caring campus community we have.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThere are more than 700 local, state, and national nonprofit organizations to which employees can contribute.
