Brian An Co-Authors Paper on Masks

Brian An, assistant professor in the School of Public Policy, has published a paper on the efficacy of mask mandates in reducing infection and death from Covid-19.

The study was published Sept. 6, 2021, in Public Administration Review. It found that mask mandates were the only of the six policy interventions studied to “demonstrate persistent long-run efficacy from the early adoption,” according to the paper.

An co-authored the paper with Simon Porcher of IAE Paris — Sorbonne Business School, Shui-Yan Tang of the University of Southern California, and Eunji Emily Kim, a Ph.D. student in Public Policy at Georgia Tech.

The article, “Policy Design for Covid-19: Worldwide Evidence on the Efficacies of Early Mask Mandates and Other Policy Interventions,” is available at https://doi.org/10.1111/puar.13426

<!-- Disquisition: it's funny how I write these TODOs and then never
revisit them. It's as though the act of writing the thing down frees me
