  <title><![CDATA[Admiral Winnefeld on CBS This Morning]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>On August 27,&nbsp;2021,&nbsp;Nunn School Professor of the Practice&nbsp;retired&nbsp;Admiral Sandy Winnefeld gave an interview on&nbsp;&ldquo;CBS&nbsp;This Morning&rdquo;.&nbsp;Admiral Winnefeld graduated from Georgia Tech in 1978&nbsp;and&nbsp;subsequently&nbsp;served in the United States Navy.&nbsp;While on CBS, the Former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff gave his thoughts on the conflict&nbsp;occurring&nbsp;in Afghanistan.&nbsp;He described the number of different&nbsp;attack&nbsp;vectors the US needs to account for and that troops on the ground&nbsp;should&nbsp;change their tactics when facing new kinds of&nbsp;threats.&nbsp;Winnefeld detailed how far the US has come with&nbsp;its&nbsp;counterterrorism tactics but that we still need to keep a focus on the generational threat of terrorism that we are facing. He also&nbsp;spoke of the problem of gathering intelligence due to the infrastructure of ISIS.&nbsp;Admiral Winnefeld&rsquo;s concluding remarks&nbsp;praised the hard work of the US troops and State Department&nbsp;employees&nbsp;on the ground.
