Access to energy is largely taken for granted in the United States. In many countries, however, there are millions of people who live without this convenience of modern life. One of the difficulties is access to a reliable source of power, such as the electrical grid that provides the energy we use, and need, each day.

Richard Simmons, director of the Energy, Policy, and Innovation Center was recently one of several experts interviewed for an article that was published online. Read the entire article to read his thoughts on energy access.
