These cataclysmic events created ripples in space-time called gravitational waves that travelled more than 900 million light years to reach detectors on Earth. Many astronomers contributed to the findings, published in the Astrophysical Journal Letters, including Bhavesh Khamesra, a graduate student in the School of Physics.
