The awards were sponsored by HMTX Industries, Universal Fibers, Sustainable Design Consulting, and Verandi Partners.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHusbands Fealing is a leader in examining issues of diversity in STEM fields and academia. She is a member of the National Science Foundation\u0026rsquo;s Committee on Equal Opportunities in Science and Engineering (CEOSE), which advises the NSF on ways to broaden opportunities for women, minorities, and persons with disabilities in science, engineering, and related fields. Her research includes topics such as the need to broaden the diversity of opportunities in STEM. She was co-organizer of the 2016 symposium on the science of broadening participation, which was sponsored by NSF.
