  <title><![CDATA[China-US Scholars Program]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>The Institute of International Education (IIE) is pleased to announce that the application for the China-U.S. Scholars Program (CUSP) is now open. CUSP is an exchange program for Chinese and American scholars and students in the arts, humanities and social sciences to teach, study or conduct research abroad in China, Hong Kong SAR (China) or the U.S. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2021 at 11:59pm EDT/April 16, 2021 at 11:59am CST.</p>

<p>Grants are offered from 5 to 10 months and exchanges must take place between August 2021 and May 2022. Benefits include international airfare, living stipend, insurance and other allowances.</p>

<p><strong>Eligibility </strong></p>

<p>All applicants should be citizens or permanent residents of China, Hong Kong SAR (China) or the U.S. at the time of application. CUSP is open to Students including undergraduates in their final year, Master&rsquo;s and doctoral students, and some recent graduates; and Scholars who hold a terminal degree or artists with significant professional experience.</p>

<p>The distribution of 48 possible grants is anticipated to be roughly equal among China and Hong Kong SAR (China) Students and Scholars traveling to the U.S., and U.S. Students and Scholars traveling to China and Hong Kong SAR (China).</p>

<p><strong>Application </strong></p>

<p>Applications must be submitted online at https://myapp.iie.org/CUSP. Applications will include a CV/resume, project statement, course syllabus (if Scholars propose to teach) and two short essays. A letter of affiliation is required for Scholar applicants, and highly recommended for Students. Students are required to obtain three letters of recommendation. For Scholars, two letters of recommendation are required.</p>
