We are coming to meet and to talk to Tech students\u0026nbsp;about teaching in college-preparatory, private\/independent schools.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe teaching environment in these private\/independent schools can be wonderful because of their small class sizes, their college-bound students, and their close-knit communities.\u0026nbsp; At independent schools, quality is not just about test scores and college acceptances; it\u0026rsquo;s also the unique way that teachers maximize the potential of their students.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EST works with over 650 schools around the South, and they list thousands of jobs with us each year.\u0026nbsp; While successful progress through a teacher-education program is essential for some of these jobs (e.g., for elementary teachers), many positions do not require a teaching certificate.\u0026nbsp; Math majors can be hired to teach math; Spanish majors can teach Spanish, etc.\u0026nbsp; Candidates do, however, need a strong academic record and the personal characteristics that will enable them to manage and motivate K-12 students.\u0026nbsp;
