Sorting Through the Racks and CAPTCHAs: Exploring the Use and Regulation of Automation Tools by Communities of Online Fashion Resellers in Poshmark.com – Christopher Le Dantec (LMC), Robert Rosenberger (Public Policy), Sara Miles Espinosa (LMC)
Sara Miles Espinosa explains their project “studies controversies around the use of automation in Poshmark.com, a second hand fashion reselling website.” She mentions that this project started because of her interest in thrifting, while she was analyzing ‘Poshmark.com’ in Globalization and New media ( taught by Christopher Le Dantec).
Healing Justice: Co-Designing for Black Communities – Susana Morris (LMC), Brooke Bosley (LMC)
According to Brooke Bosely, “the GVU IPaT Seed Grant will play a tremendous role in providing support as we conduct co-design sessions with Black communities.” The team has been working on this project for the past three years. Brooke explains that “they studied how white supremacy in Technology can be addressed through Black Feminism and Afrofuturism. This project is just one of a series of co-design sessions that will focus on tackling racial inequities.”
