641837 event 1607014794 1610391044 <![CDATA[MLK Day of Service 2021]]> MLK Day of Service is an immersive, community service program that connects GT community members to hands-on service projects and social issue education in the Atlanta area. Each year, on the observed Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we offer the chance to make it a “day on, not a day off” partnering with Atlanta community organizations to connect, serve, and move us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a ‘Beloved Community’.

We are excited to be hosting our 11th MLK Day of Service! Our 2021 event has been adjusted to a hybrid format to account for needs of our community partners and GT community members during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Overall Schedule (EST):
8:30-8:55 a.m. - Check-in and Connect for our Welcome
9-9:15 a.m. - MLK Day of Service Welcome + Kickoff
9:15-11:15 a.m. - Formal Service Block (Group+Virtual Service Projects)
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. - MLK Day of Service Speaker, John Onwuchekwa

MLK Day of Service:
You can choose how you’d like to serve this year! We will offer the following options:

MLK Small Group Service Projects | Organized with local community partners, these will be in-person service projects hosted on-campus during our formal Day of Service hours. Space will be limited.
MLK Virtual Projects | Organized with local community partners, these projects will allow for engagement during MLK Day of Service without an in-person component.
MLK Engage Where you Are | Commit to strengthening your connection to community wherever you are, through service or another community engagement option that you choose!

MLK Day of Service Participants and GT community are invited to join us for a conversation with this year’s MLK Day of Service speaker, John Onwuchekwa, co-founder of Portrait Coffee!
