  <body><![CDATA[<p>On the 12th of October, Nunn School&nbsp;<a href="https://inta.gatech.edu/people/person/margaret-e-kosal">Associate Professor Margaret E. Kosal</a>&nbsp;gave an invited talk at the&nbsp;&ldquo;21st Century Technologies, Geopolitics, and the US-Japan Alliance: Recognizing Game-changing Potential&rdquo; series sponsored by&nbsp;<a href="https://pacforum.org/">Pacific Forum</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://jp.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/tokyo/">US Embassy Tokyo</a>, the&nbsp;<a href="https://crs-japan.org/en/about-us/">Center for Rule-making Strategies (CRS)</a>&nbsp;at Tama University,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kgri.keio.ac.jp/en/">Keio University Global Research Institute</a>, and the&nbsp;<a href="https://oistfoundation.org/">Oist Foundation</a>.&nbsp;This virtual series brings together experts from the region to discuss game-changing technologies for national and international security in the context of the US-Japan alliance, examining several foundational technologies and game-changing applications.</p>

<p>Kosal spoke on &ldquo;Game-changing Biotechnology:&nbsp; Security, Proliferation, &amp; Governance Challenges.&rdquo; Using technical scholarship, social science methods, and current affairs, she outlined how to these game-changers may affect geopolitics and international security to shape the future.</p>
