  <title><![CDATA[Healthcare Disparities Event]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Georgia Tech&#39;s Student Hospital Connections (SHC), AMSA, Physician Assistant Club (PAC) and SHS Ambassadors are excited to announce our&nbsp;upcoming Healthcare Disparities Event.</p>

<p>During the event,&nbsp;you will hear from our keynote speaker and 4 other panelists on the topic of inequalities concerning access to healthcare within their healthcare field and have the opportunity to ask them questions during our panel! This event will be held virtually via BlueJeans Events on Tuesday, October 27th from 7-8 PM. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by October 26th at noon&nbsp;using <a href="https://forms.gle/f6EoaWJX6B3Jb2eE7" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">this form</a>.</p>

<p>Our keynote speaker is Mrs. Breanna Lathrop (DNP, MPH, FNP-BC) from the Good Samaritan Health Center in Atlanta, GA.</p>

<p>Additionally, we will be collecting donations leading up to and during the event. All collected donations will be going to Atlanta&rsquo;s Break the Cycle Program!&nbsp;Break the Cycle is a non-profit focused on promoting health equity for all children. It was established to address the health, environmental, socio-economic, and ecological disparities of health for children, young/emerging adults, women living under adverse social and economic conditions. This organization works towards developing a better understanding of the relationship between social and economic disadvantage and prevalence and severity of poor health outcomes, supporting and developing programs that will improve the situation for communities with poor health outcomes, coordinating research in promotion of health related to environmental circumstances and factors and influencing healthcare practices, training of health care professionals and Public Policy.</p>
