Inspired by Project Drawdown, there are five sectors where Georgia has the potential to leverage the most change: Electricity, Food & Agriculture, Land Sinks, Transportation, and Buildings & Materials. If we get this right, we’ll reduce our carbon impact to 69 megatons by 2030.

Over 18 months, a team of the state’s leading researchers and scientists took a deep dive into the data to determine what can be achieved within the Drawdown framework, leveraging our state’s abundant economic, social and natural resources. We set a fast-approaching deadline of 2030 to ensure that we’d be well on the road to net-zero by 2040. If we get this right, we can cut Georgia’s carbon impact by 34% in just 10 years, from an anticipated 2030 footprint of >120 million tons of carbon dioxide.

Drawdown Georgia’s mission is built on our state’s capacity for progress against emissions reductions in five high-impact areas:

Electricity

Transportation

Buildings & Materials

Food & Agriculture

Land Sinks

Within these high-impact areas, we have 20 specific solutions — from building on our solar and EV capacity, to growing our ability to sequester carbon in our forests and coastal wetlands, to transitioning to sustainable agriculture and plant-rich diets and building cleaner and greener.

Drawdown Georgia is also addressing the social, economic, environmental, and health impacts of scaling these solutions by accounting for the impacts Beyond Carbon.

Please join us Wednesday, Oct. 21 for the webinar at 2:00 pm EST. No RSVP is required and all are welcome!

Link to join: https://primetime.bluejeans.com/a2m/live-event/rqdytagb

Please join us for a webinar on the project Drawdown GA.
