{"64013":{"#nid":"64013","#data":{"type":"news","title":"GT Students Host Annual Day at State Capitol","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EAs legislators and lobbyists began their\nworkdays at the State Capitol on Tuesday, a familiar buzz lingered through the\nmarble halls. \u0026nbsp;The distinctive hum was from the gathering of over 50\nGeorgia Tech students and friends milling about the building for the 2011 GT\nStudent Day at the Capitol. \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EOrganized by the Student Government\nAssociation in coordination with the Office of Government and Community\nRelations, Student Day provided an opportunity for the Tech community to thank\nstate leaders for their commitment to higher education, learn more about the\nworkings under the Gold Dome, and be honored by the General Assembly for their\ninvolvement.\u0026nbsp; This year\u2019s event marked\nthe second annual such gathering.\u0026nbsp; \u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EStudents and guests heard from Georgia Tech\nalumni legislators Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers, MGT \u201991, and Senator\nJohnny Grant, IE \u201972, as well as President Peterson as part of the event.\u0026nbsp; They were presented a resolution (HR12) authored\nby Rep.
